BREAKING NEWS FOLLOW-UP: Mugshots of murder suspects

The two suspects arrested in last week’s homicide in Steele County are being held in the Steele County Jail.

On Tuesday, Sheriff Lon Thiele announced his office arrested two men and they are being held on probable cause homicide. Arrested were Cyrus Noel Trevino, 24, of Owatonna and Gerald William Blevins, no permanent address, but has relatives in the Owatonna and Faribault areas, Thiele said.

They will likely be charged Wednesday.

Trevino has a criminal history dating back to at least 2011 when he was charged with disorderly conduct and a traffic offense in Freeborn County. In 2013, he was charged with domestic assault and possession of drugs in Steele County. In 2014, Waseca Police picked up Trevino for a driving offense and found him to be in possession of drugs.

The Times has learned that Blevins had an arrest warrant out for check forgery in Rice County at the time of his arrest this week.

More details are expected to be released when the criminal complaint is filed later this week. Stay tuned to the Times for more updates.
