Jorge Juan Rocha, 49, of Claremont has been charged with first-degree attempted murder in connection with a stabbing Tuesday night at a residence in Claremont.
Rocha made his first court appearance Thursday in Dodge County District Court where the judge ordered him held on $250,000 bail with conditions and $500,000 without conditions.
The attempted murder charge is while committing domestic abuse with past pattern of domestic abuse. If convicted on the charge, he faces 20 years in prison. In addition, Rocha was charged with two other felonies, including second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and terroristic threats.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the apartments in the 200 block of Front Street West in Claremont where they found a woman had been stabbed. The complaint alleges Rocha came at the victim and said, “I’m going to kill you bitch.” She was then stabbed in the lower left side of her abdomen with a knife.
