Mann takes over K-M softball
When a school hires a new coach, it usually means that there is a new guy on the block. However, in the case of new Kasson-Mantorville softball coach Paul Mann, his 20 years of coaching experience means he’s anything but new to the community.
Mann has filled a variety of roles for K-M. He served as the head baseball coach from 2001-03 before taking over wrestling from 2003 to 2014. His experience also extends to the lower levels as he’s coached seventh/eighth grade football for 13 years and served as the C-squad and JV coach for the softball program the past three seasons.
“I really enjoy the interaction with high school student-athletes,” Mann explains of his long resume. “Their energy and willingness to work hard has been awesome at K-M. I missed the excitement being around the varsity atmosphere and I’m excited to be back in a head coaching position.”
The position has been something that Mann has been wanting to do for a while, but he wanted to make sure that everything was in place before committing to replace Jeff Fague.
