Roberta Bradford,73, Kasson

Roberta L. Bradford, 73, of Kasson died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Mayo Clinic – St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1942, to Clarence and Lucille (Herrley) Gladden in Kasson. She was a 1960 graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School and completed beauty school in the Twin Cities.  She was a beautician in the Kasson-Mantorville area for 44 years.

On April 24, 1964, Roberta married Philip Howard Bradford in Kasson.  They have resided in Kasson for 51 years.  She was a member of the Kasson United Methodist Church, co-chair of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Naomi Circle, served on the Memorial Committee and was an avid volunteer in all activities held at the church.  She was a past president and longtime member of the Mantorville Ladies VFW Auxiliary.  Roberta’s greatest love was her family, she enjoyed watching her granddaughters in all of their activities, quilting and sewing with the Happy Sew and Tell Quilters, knitting and crocheting countless gifts for others, playing cards with her friends at the golf course, reading, fishing, camping, golfing, dining with her fellow Red Hat Uffda’s, canning, cooking countless holiday dinners, traveling and spending time in the warm Arizona sun with her husband.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Philip Howard Bradford of Kasson; Raegen (Lucky) Lurken of Mantorville; Donnae (Darin) Grabau of Kasson; Tara Bradford (Richard Kath) of Kasson; four granddaughters, Madison Grabau, Brooklyn Grabau, Alexandra Grabau and Kennedy Bradford.  She is also survived by her brother, Clarence (Jeannie) Gladden Jr. of White Bear Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Charlotte Gladden, Audrey Vonch, Sharon Quam and Judy Morkre.

The funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Kasson. Pastor Joel Xavier officiated.   Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials for them to distribute later according to their own wishes.
