Quinten Erle Frarck, 71, Rochester
Quinten Erle Frarck, 71, peacefully slipped from his earthly bonds Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at Season’s Hospice House, Rochester, following a courageous two and a half year battle with metastatic prostate cancer.
Quinten was born July 15, 1948 at Fergus Falls Hospital in Fergus Falls. He spent his childhood on his family’s dairy farm in Barrett, Minn., attended Barrett Schools, and graduated in 1966. After graduation, he attended Alexandria Vo-Tech for welding. He enlisted in the Navy, serving for four years on the USS Hunley, a submarine tender stationed in Charleston, S.C. from 1967-1971.
In 1971, he married Cheryl Anne White and began his training as a tool and die machinist in Granite Falls (1972-1974). After training, he worked as a machinist at Versatile Gear and Axle in Fargo (1974-76), Owatonna Tool Company (1976-1988), IBM (1988-1994), and Magnum Machining (1994-2000). He returned to school at Riverland Community College for Building and Industrial Maintenance, (2001-2003). After school, he was employed at Golden Living Center and Springhill Suites.
Quinten retired in 2013 to spend time traveling with his best friend and wife, Cheryl, building sets, woodworking projects, reading, jigsaw-puzzles, spending time with his daughter Alicia out on the golf courses hitting and missing golf balls, and biking with his granddaughter, Madysen.
Quinten is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl, daughter Alicia (Andrew Elzen); and granddaughter Madysen. He is also survived by brothers Dennis, Robert, Ernie, and sister Janet.
Quinten was preceded in death by his father Paul, mother Lyla, and younger brother Carman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church in Rochester, with Pastor Beth Royalty officiating. A celebration of Quint’s life will follow the memorial in Breckenridge Hall. Internment of ashes will be held at Fort Snelling in St. Paul on Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. Cremation services provided by Neptune Society.
