Phyllis Jane Kruckeberg
Phyllis Jane Kruckeberg, 87, of Owatonna, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at Birchwood Cottages.
She was born Nov. 10, 1930 in Owatonna the daughter of Rueben and Elizabeth (Hybl) Carlson. Phyllis graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1949 and attended one year at Austin Community College for secretary training.
On Sept. 6, 1950, she married Corvin Ditlevson. He preceded her in death in 1978. Phyllis married Darrell Kruckeberg in 1983 and he preceded her in death in 1987.
She worked throughout her life as a waitress and a secretary. Phyllis lived in Blooming Prairie for most of her life before moving to Owatonna. While in Owatonna she worked at MBZ Communications, Sterling Drug and Culver’s.
Phyllis was a member of First Lutheran Church for many years and joined Trinity Lutheran Church after moving to Owatonna. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Phyllis was a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking and baking. She loved playing Canasta and other card games.
She is survived by her son, Gary (and Alyce) Ditlevson of Faribault; grandchildren, Jolene (and Pat) Kunkel, Chad (and Katherin) Ditlevson, Scott (and Tracy) Harty, Rodney Lester, Kristi Lester; great grandchildren, Jacob Kunkel, Lizzy Kunkel, Cherise Petterson, Kylie Petterson, Connor Ditlevson, Brady Ditlevson, Justin Harty, Kevin Harty, Ethan Harty, Yasmine Lester, Giovanni Lester; brothers, Don Carlson of Hayfield, Doug (and Colleen) Carlson of Harmony; sister, Dorothy (and Adrian) Kilian of Geneva and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Corvin Ditlevson and Darrell Kruckeberg; daughter, Janell Lester; son, Dale Ditlevson; grandson, Jeremy Lester.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Intern Pastor Madison Chelberg officiating. Interment was at the Danish Baptist Cemetery in Blooming Prairie.
