Orline Peterson, 95, Blooming Prairie

Orline Martha Magdalena

Peterson, age 95 of Blooming Prairie, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2019 at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.

She was born Aug. 9, 1924 in Waltham Township, Mower County, to Henry and Magdalena (Prochnow) Ruhter. Orline attended country school. On Oct. 29, 1950, Orline was united in marriage to Eldred Peter- son at St. Michaels Lutheran ChurcOrline Peterson

in Waltham. The couple raised five children.

Orline was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Eldred passed away Dec. 28, 2014. After his death, Orline moved to Field Crest Care Center. She was a life-long member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, where she was a part of the church circle, taught Sunday School,

and directed the childrens choir. She also volunteered for

Meals on Wheels.

Orline loved to cook, bake, and quilt. She enjoyed gar- dening and vegetable gardening, raising chickens from chicks, and taking coffee breaks. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by many.

Orline is survived by her children, Gilman (Patricia) Peterson of Dodge Center/Hayfield, Delmar Peterson of Blooming Prairie, JoAnne (Randall) Smith of Hokkaido, Japan, Merlin (Denice) Peterson of Toppenish, Wash., and Rodney (Teresa) Peterson of Owatonna; 14 grandchildren,

10 great-grandchildren; brother, Chasper (Charlotte) Ruhter of Rochester; sister-in-law, Adell Ruhter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Magdalena Ruhter; husband, Eldred; daughter-in-law, Barbara Peterson; three brothers, Lester Ruhter, Ger- hardt (Delores) Ruhter, Joseph Ruhter, and Milton (Lois) Ruhter; and granddaughter, Joy Peterson.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019

at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Hegal officiating. Interment will follow at Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to recipient of donors choice. Services are prearranged and performed by Wor- lein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home. Condolences may bexpressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
