He was born June 5, 1930, in Meriden Township, the son of Milton and Mabel (Brown) Ebeling. He attended country school in Meriden Township and Aurora Township when the family moved to a farm there.  He graduated from Owatonna High School Class of 1949.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Linse on Jan. 10, 1953, in Blooming Prairie. The couple operated a dairy farm in Aurora Township in Steele County. Along with dairy farming, Milt worked with the Civil Defense for a short time and at the ASCS office.  He served on the Aurora Township Board for many years, was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, National Farmers Organization and Associated Church.

He also enjoyed hunting trips up near Blackduck with his buddies and most recently rides in the country to look at the crops.
