Loren Williamson, 89, Blooming Prairie
Lorene P. Williamson, age 89 of Blooming Prairie, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
Lorene Pearl Madson was born March 9, 1926, in Westfield Township, Dodge County, to Peter and Laura (Nelson) Madson. She grew up in Westfield Township, where she attended grade school, and then Blooming Prairie High School.
On June 13, 1944, Lorene and Orville Williamson were married in Blooming Prairie. The couple raised four children. Lorene worked at Hormel Foods Corporation and as a cook at a restaurant and at the high school.
After the birth of their first son, she stayed at home to raise her family. After Orville retired, the couple started going to flea markets. Lorene’s main hobby was refinishing furniture. She took great pride in her work, and it brought her much joy.
Lorene is survived by her sons Gary Williamson of Stewartville, Wayne (Connie) Williamson and Dean (Barbara) Williamson, both of Blooming Prairie; nine grandchildren Scott, Sarah, Jason, Jody, Tim, Renee, Laura, Kallie and Jack; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law Sylvia Swenson of Blooming Prairie and Syrlene Williamson of Austin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Her parents Peter and Laura Madson, her husband Orville Williamson in 1999, her daughter Pam Heil, her son-in-law David Heil, four sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services were on Oct. 31, 2015, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, with Pastor Charles Leonard officiating. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery.
