Larry Mark Behsman, 75, Brownsville, Texas
Larry Mark Behsman, peacefully passed away on Oct. 10, 2018 at his home in Brownsville, Texas with his loving wife of 52 years, Mary LaVonne (Krey) Behsman, by his side. Larry was born on All Saints Day, Nov. 1, 1942 in Owatonna, to Herman and Florence (Peterson) Behsman. Larry started school attending country school in Wasioja, and in 1961, graduated from Dodge Center High School in Dodge Center.
It was while attending Dodge Center that he met his future wife Mary while he was in 9th grade. After graduation, Larry joined the US Navy serving from 1961 through 1966 aboard the Mine Sweeper USS Vireo/MSC 205 in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam Conflict based out of Sasebo, Japan. While serving aboard the USS Vireo, Larry met his lifelong friend Jim Smith.
After Larry was Honorably Discharged, he returned to Minnesota and married Mary on June 5, 1966 at Grace Lutheran Church in Dodge Center. For their Honeymoon, as only Larry could do, he took his new bride to Mille Lacs Lake fishing and so began the 52-year journey with Mary. During the early years of their journey, they did a lot of camping and fishing. They enjoyed many trips to Northern Minnesota and especially the time spent going to Clark Lake in Nisswa with Leo and Penny Maas and their children Mark, Anne Marie and Matthew.
Larry was a proud Union Industrial/ Commercial Electrician for over 40 years retiring in 2005. After retirement, Larry took up Walleye Tournament fishing. Fishing with friends Lee Akeman on the Minnesota Walleye Trail and Bob Brunz and his son Nate Brunz on the Master Walleye Circuit as well as the FLW Walleye Circuit. When not tournament fishing, he could be found on many area lakes and made many trips up the Graham Road in Canada with John Hobbs and many other dear friends.
Larry hunted many years for deer and turkey in Southeast Minnesota on the farm of friends Gerald and DiAnne Peter. It was during these trips that Larry shared his love of hunting with his sons Thomas and Troy as well as his Grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by both of his loving parents, Herman and Florence Behsman, his grandparents and twin sons.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary of 52 years in Brownsville, Texas and two sons, Thomas Herman (Michelle) Behsman of Madison Lake and Troy Harvey (Lisa) Behsman of Cleveland, Minn. Larry is survived by five Grandchildren, William Thomas Behsman of Watertown, S.D., Michael Aaron Behsman of Minneapolis,, Jack Thomas Behsman of Cleveland, Allison Rogers Behsman of Madison Lake and Brooke Taylor Behsman of Cleveland.
Also survived by Sister-in-laws Verna (Richard) Boss of Owatonna, and Tammy Krey of Dodge Center, and Brother in law James Krey of Dodge Center.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake, Minn., on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 and will continue one hour prior to the Memorial Service at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at Epiphany Luthe Eagle Lake.
