James Wyttenbach, 81, San Antonio, Mantorville
James Wyttenbach, age 81, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.
He was born in Mantorville on Jan. 3, 1934 to Walter and Alvera Wyttenbach, the youngest of six children. After high school, he served his country by joining the United States Air Force. He had a distinguished 22-year career and retired in the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
While stationed at Duluth Air Force base, he married the former Joan Kubiski on March 5, 1956 and together they raised two children through five Air Force transfers before finally settling in San Antonio, Texas. He had a second successful career with the Dee Howard Company continuing his love of aviation.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Joan; a brother, Warren Wyttenbach; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Phyllis Helmbrecht.
Survivors include his son, James Wyttenbach of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; daughter Jenny Gawlik and her husband Louis of La Vernia, Texas; two grandsons, James Wyttenbach III of Atlanta, Georgia and Justin Paschall of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Evelyn Suhr of Kasson-Mantorville; brother Daryl Wyttenbach of Magnolia, Delaware; and many family members and friends who graced his life. He will be greatly missed by all.
James wished to be cremated; therefore, no funeral was held. James and Joan’s wishes were that their ashes be spread across Lake Superior.
