Earl George Stellmaker, 93, Kasson
Earl George Stellmaker, 93, of rural Kasson, passed away peacefully at Fieldcrest Care Center in Hayfield on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015.
Earl was born Aug.19, 1922 to George and Merle (Eppard) Stellmaker in rural Racine, Minnesota. At age five, the family moved to a Mayo farm just west of Rochester, where they lived for most of Earl’s childhood. As an adult he had many jobs; the most memorable being as a bus driver for Rochester City Lines, working for IBM and later for the Mayo Clinic. His favorite place to be, however, was working on his farm in rural Kasson.
On Oct. 24, 1953, he married Shirley Clarice Fjerstad of rural Kasson. The couple lived on the farm for most of their lives.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Claire (Nelson) of Kasson and his son, Brad (and wife, Suzi) of Story City, Iowa; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his brothers Harvey and Gerald; his sisters Edna, Marion, Clover, Della & Roberta; and his son-in-law, Rick Nelson.
Funeral services were held at Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at South Zumbro Lutheran Church, rural Kasson. Pastor Mark Schwartz officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the South Zumbro Lutheran Church memorial fund.
