Deloris Rasmussen, 95, Dodge Center
Deloris Mavis Rasmussen, 95, of Dodge Center, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester.
She was an identical twin born March 16, 1921 in Ellingson Township, Dodge County, Minn., the daughter of Carl and Martha (Peterson) Erickson. She grew up on a farm and attended country school. On Aug. 25, 1940, she married Russell Rasmussen in Dodge Center. The couple lived and raised their family in and around the Dodge County area. In 1995, they purchased a house in Dodge Center.
Russ died in 1998 and Deloris continued living in Dodge Center until moving to West Concord in July, 2013.
Deloris enjoyed flowers and birds, embroidered many dish towels, made a blanket for every baby, and loved visiting with family and friends over a cup of coffee. As a twin, she was particularly close with her sister, Doris all her life. She attended First Congregational Church in Dodge Center.
She is survived by her children, Marge (Dennis) French, Larry (Arla) Rasmussen, Steven (Myrna) Rasmussen, Linda (Dan) Lulf, Colleen Snaza, and Karla (Randy) Wencl, 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and a brother, Elmer Erickson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Martha Erickson; husband, Russ Rasmussen; son-in-law, John Snaza; grandchildren, Jolene (Snaza) Spreiter and Kurt Rasmussen; and siblings, Ada Mahnke, Doris Vrieze, Andy Erickson, Stanley Erickson, Roy Erickson and Edwin Erickson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2 at First Congregational Church in Dodge Center, with Rev. Charles Schaal officiating.
Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery, followed by a lunch at the American Legion in West Concord.
