Daniel D. Jensen, 50, Kasson
The memorial service for Daniel D. Jensen, 50, of Kasson, Minn., will be held Thursday, Dec. 1 at 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Stewartville, Minn., with Rev. Wane Souhrada officiating. Mr. Jensen died at his home, Friday, Nov. 25, of an apparent heart attack.
Daniel D. Jensen was born on April 5, 1966 in Rochester, Minn., to Donald and Marjorie (Marshall) Jensen. He grew up in Stewartville, but graduated from Hayfield High School in 1984. Dan then attended Waseca Technical College and was a longtime employee of S and L Contracting in Rochester as a heavy equipment operator.
Dan was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers—Local 49—in Rochester, moving to Kasson in 1996, where he has continued to make his home. He was a former member of the Stewartville United Methodist Church and was a proud member of the Kasson Fire Department. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, snowmobiling and following the Vikings and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football teams. He also enjoyed time spent with his friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews and his beloved boxer dogs, Chopper and Harley.
Dan is survived by his sister, Lori Jensen of St. Charles, Minn.; two brothers, David Jensen of Rochester and Jeffrey (Andria) Jensen of Kasson; his beloved nieces and nephews—Shane, Tara, Will, Jack, Thomas, Emma, Carli and Cami; his aunt, Judy Malone of Stewartville; his cousins—Lisa, Bryan and Brad Malone; and his father, Donald Jensen, of Kasson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Jensen.
Visitation took place from 5-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville. Burial and a committal service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville at a later date. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray Funeral Home (www.griffin-gray.com).
