K-M students headed to White House

A pair of Kasson-Mantorville middle school students has been chosen to present their project at the White House Science Fair next week.

Andrea Richard and Lydia Mindermann, eighth-graders at K-M, will show off their project, a smartphone app called Mayo Free Time in the west wing of the White House Tuesday. Technovation coach Sharie Furst will be accompanying the girls on the trip. Technovation is the global technology entrepreneurship competition for girls ages 10 to 18.

The Kasson girls will join other top students from around the country who will give presentations to President Barack Obama.
