BREAKING NEWS: PEDESTRAIN KILLED IN OWATONNA
A pedestrian has been killed in a crash in Owatonna Friday morning.
Police are investigating the early morning crash that happened at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and West North Street in Owatonna. A police officer came upon the crash at 6:35 a.m.
The name of the pedestrian is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
According to police, a 5 axle tractor-tanker driven by Thomas J. David, 56, of Kenyon, was turning west from Riverside Avenue onto West North Street. Police said the pedestrian was in the roadway, but not seen by the driver.
The pedestrian was transported to Owatonna Hospital and pronounced dead.
While the crash remains under investigation, police say the death appears to be accidental. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting local police with the investigation.
