BREAKING NEWS: Owatonna voters approve new high school

A new high school will be coming to Owatonna after voters approved a bond referendum in Tuesday’s special election.

Unofficial results show the referendum passed by nearly 1,300 votes. The final total for Question 1 was 6,311 yes votes to 5,017 no votes.

The second question also passed, but by a narrower margin: 5,756 to 5,420. Question 2 will provide the district $8 million to repurpose the current high school instead of the original intention of demolishing it.
