BREAKING NEWS: BP Selects new elementary principal

During a special meeting Tuesday, the Blooming Prairie school board approved Jacob Schwarz as the new principal of the district's elementary school.
Schwarz will replace Chris Staloch, who will take over at superintendent for the retiring Barry Olson.
This was Schwarz’s third year as the high school and middle school principal at Grand Meadow and his 16th overall in education. He earned a teaching degree from Winona State, a master’s degree in leadership from Southwest State University in Marshall and his administrative principal license from Minnesota State University Mankato. Schwarz has spent time teaching at Chatfield High School and with the Austin Public Schools District. He has experience as an instructional coach for teachers where he helped plan curriculum and offered staff development. He has coached several different sports such as baseball, basketball and football. Schwarz also owns a farm outside of Blooming Prairie.
