Everyone chips in for K-M win over Triton

Four KoMets reach double figures in victory

Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team put forth one of he year last week as they used a tenacious full-court press and a team effort to defeat Triton on January 25. The victory improved the KoMets record to 11-6 on the season and has everyone on the team contributing in a big way.

Against the Cobras, the KoMets came out of the gates on fire with unselfish team basketball on both ends of the floor.

While everybody had a big game, Triton had no answer for Mya Suess in the paint. The sophomore would finish with 17 points, a career-high 25 rebounds and seven blocks to help K-M take a 40-17 lead at halftime. The KoMets’ dominance continued in the second half with a complete team effort that saw four players finish in double-digit scoring. Avery Irish would post her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Aby Shubert scored 12 points and Bailey Berge scored 11 as K-M would pick up a 68-36 win over the Cobras.

With the win, the KoMets are now 7-3 in their last seven games and have a 4-4 record in the HVL. Thanks to a series of postponements, the KoMets will have a busy week after hosting Zumbrota-Mazeppa on Monday and Rochester Lourdes on Tuesday. K-M will head to Cannon Falls on Thursday before hosting Stewartville o en next week at Byron on February 5.
