STATE HOPES DASHED

It was a catch-up all the way as Blossom girls fall in section finals

“It was a fun ride,” said a proud Blooming Prairie High School girls basketball Coach John Bruns when reflecting on the 2020 season.

The Awesome Blossom girls saw their season come to an end last Thursday night at the Mayo Civic Arena in Rochester in the Section 1A championship game against the Fillmore Central Falcons.

Fillmore Central used an aggressive offense and a hounding defense to trip up the Awesome Blos- soms, 69-56.

“It was a tough loss for us and one that will stick with us for awhile,” said Coach Bruns. Fillmore Central played a “great” game, he said. “We didn’t have our best defensive game, and they made us pay for every mistake we made,” he added.

The Blossom girls finished 21-6 overall for the season.
