Panthers roll to first victory

The NRHEG Panthers recorded their first victory of the season Friday night when they crushed St. James-Butterfield-Odin 55-6 in a non-conference match-up in New Richland.

The Panthers piled on 320 rushing yards led by Blake Ihrke with 75 yards. Lonnie Wilson had 71 yards while Kordell Schlaak had 66 and Nick Staloch 59. Ihrke led the scoring for NRHEG with two touchdowns. Wilson, Schlaak, Staloch and Porter Peterson contributed one touchdown each.

Ihrke led NRHEG’s passing attack by connecting on 10 of 18 attempts for 128 yards.

There were two interceptions in the game. Schlaak and Riley Schultz each had an interception.

In the first two contests of the season, the Panthers lost to Blue Earth 57-6 and Jackson County Central shut them out 46-0.

NRHEG (1-2) now travels to Martin County West Friday night. Both teams have the same record on the season. Jackson County Central ripped Martin County West last week 48-3.
