BP stars sign college commitments
Lots of proud people gathered in the Blooming Prairie High School Library to witness the signings of letters of intent by three players from the state champion Awesome Blossom football team.
Applying ink to letters of intent last Wednesday, Feb. 5 to play college football were Gabe Hagen, Minnesota State at Mankato; Karson Vigeland, Concordia College of St. Paul and Zach Weber, University of Wisconsin at Stout.
All three Awesome Blossom football players were part of the 2019 state championship (Section 1A) football team.
Cameras were busy capturing the proud moment for the athletes themselves and for their coaches and families.
"These kids worked hard and put in a lot of time to get to this moment," remarked a happy Chad Gimbel, Blossoms head varsity football coach.
Hagen and Vigeland will play Division II football and will receive scholarship help. Weber will play football in Division III without scholarship assistance.
Alison Mach, BP School’s activities director, introduced the star athletes. "We are here to celebrate their achievements and to look into the future for more accomplishments," Mach said.
Mach praised the three players for their leadership on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
