Pair of FFA seniors say goodbye
The 2019-2020 school year will be one to remember.
And, especially it will be memorable for two Blooming Prairie High School seniors, who are members of the BP Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter.
Kaiden Finley was this year's FFA president.
He participated in many events throughout the years from ag mechanics to small engines.
Finley said that some of his highlights are meeting new people and seeing new places.
He is very passionate about agriculture. His future plans are to continue in that industry with a deep commitment. Finley said that his advice to underclassmen is to “never be afraid to do something or to try something.”
Cortney Espe is the other Blooming Prairie FFA chapter member who is a senior. She is secretary of the local FFA.
She came to Blooming Prairie as a junior and was a part of FFA in her previous school at Southland.
Espe participated in a variety of events from horse judging to talent. She said her highlights in FFA are getting to experience going to state convention with her friends and being introduced into the world of agriculture.
Her future plans include attending South Dakota State University. She will be majoring in both art education and theatre. Espe’s advice to underclassmen is “try out one of the contests that you aren’t really interested in.”
"Thank you for all you have done for FFA, Kaiden and Cortney, you both will truly be missed," remarked FFA advisor Bill Rinkenberger.
