Dr. Molly Anderson Krahn joins K-M Regional
When Dr. Molly Anderson-Krahn, was getting her undergraduate degree from Winona State University, with a degree in Biology, she wanted to be an Athletic Trainer.
But eventually those plans changed.
After volunteering and working at an animal clinic in Winona, Anderson-Krahn realized that she had a new passion and that is to be a vet.
“During that time it made me realize that this is what I want to do,” Anderosn-Krahn said.
Now 10 years later, and Anderson-Krahn said she is very glad she made the change.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota with her Veterinarian Degree, she worked for five years at a vet clinic in Brainerd, similar size to K-M Regional, and for about five years in the Rochester area before joining on as a full-time vet with K-M Regional Hospital in June.
For Anderson-Krahn, she really enjoys all aspects of being a vet including helping animals who may be sick and also educating clients that come in.
“I love being able to make a difference,” Anderson-Krahn said.
Being apart of a smaller animal hospital with two full-time vets, she explained that she really enjoys being able to see a wide variety of patients each day from animals coming in for their vaccinations to one’s that may need some type of surgery and everything in between.
One of the things she is looking forward to the most is being able to build relationships.
“I am looking forward to building long lasting relationships and help families and animals during the highs and the lows,” she said.
After being born in Brainerd,Anderson-Krahn moved with her family to Rochester when she was four years old, where she currently resides with her husband and two sons.
Anderson-Krahn said she really enjoys her new role and is happy to be in a position where she feels very comfortable.
“I really like it here, I’m very happy here,”she said. “It’s nice when you find a place you feel very comfortable in,”
