Adjust your calendars and make room on Sunday, Dec. 4 for the St. Columbanus Council of Catholic Women (CCW) nativity brunch and bake sale at the church, 114 East Main Street in Blooming Prairie.
In addition to enjoying a fresh-baked breakfast, visitors will be able to buy baked goods and also have the opportunity to see beautiful nativities from all over the world.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and continues until noon.
The meal includes breakfast burritos, hash browns, assorted pastries, sliced oranges, milk, juice and coffee.
A free will offering will be accepted and will benefit the CCW Fund. The fund is used upon request throughout the year and also helps benefit a number of organizations that the CCW donates to each year.
The bake sale will feature a variety of sweets and treats for guests to take home for their enjoyment.
Shirley Hinzmann, who helps organize the event, said she especially enjoys viewing the nativity scenes.
Joanne VanWyek collected the nativity scenes and, after she passed away in 2012, her sister Margaret Noble decided to display the scenes at the church each year for all to enjoy.
"We have many of them set up," said Hinzmann. "The displays are from all over the world and they are all so different."
The displays adorn the tables in the church basement, where they remain on display throughout the month of December.
Hinzmann said that the nativity scenes also add to the atmosphere during the church's weekly activities.
Hinzmann encourages all to come enjoy the event and help support the local CCW.
