BP native accepts entrepreneur award

Jessica Kruckeberg, a BPHS graduate and daughter of local entrepreneur, Craig Kruckeberg, was recently awarded the Prestigious 2016 Pioneering Entrepreneur Award by the Colorado Counseling Association.

She was chosen for the award for her recent contribution to the mental health community through the development of the BlueBrick Communication Assessment and BlueBrick Therapeutic Journals found at

The BlueBrick Communication Assessment is a cuttingedge kit that allows therapists and counselors to teach communication skills using Lego building blocks. The assessments received rave reviews when they were launched earlier this year. One therapist commented, “It is organized very well, creative, and allows clients to practice skills without realizing it!” Another said, “This was a great tool to engage kids and parents. I’ve already recommended this to colleagues.”

The BlueBrick Therapeutic Journals will be a line of journals that include a gratitude journal, anger log, and an insight journal, which will allow therapists, counselors, and their clients to continue the therapy process between sessions. The BlueBrick Therapeutic Journals will be launched next month at the Colorado Association of Marriage and Family Therapist’s annual conference.

“It has been a long process, definitely a labor of love. It is a surprise to be recognized by such a prestigious organization. I am a fourth generation entrepreneur and I am honored to continue the tradition,” said Kruckeberg.

The Pioneering Entrepreneur Award was one of eight awards presented last week at the Colorado Counseling Association’s Fall Conference.

Kruckeberg is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a fulltime private practice in Aurora, Colo., called Areas of Growth Counseling. She also is the founder of Louder Than A Lion, products and services for therapist by therapists, and an affiliate faculty member at Regis University. More information can be found at and
